Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew expects Cheick Tiote to be fine for the season kickoff against Tottenham.
The Ivory Coast warrior was subbed during the 2-1 win over SC Braga on Saturday night as tempers flared during the Trofeu Internacional de Futebol do Guadiana.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "He wasn't happy out there. He was upset.
"Cheick made a couple of misplaced passes and it upset him.
"He's a perfectionist and we had to calm him down. But he'll be ready for the next game."
