Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce hopes that right back DeAndre Yedlin will stay at the club.
The American was linked with a move away in this transfer window.
He is out of favor, but was impressive in a 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Morecambe in midweek.
According to Bruce, Yedlin could earn his way into more game time if he continues to play in that fashion.
Bruce told reporters: "The most difficult job that I've got is keeping everybody happy.
"Ultimately, we have to make the decision on 22 players. There's the difficult situation itself.
"I am sure that DeAndre wants to play regularly.
"We have three recognised right-backs at the club which is not really that healthy to be honest.
"However, DeAndre is somebody I like, as a pro, as a player."
