Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is delighted with the progress of Elliot Anderson.
Anderson was named on the bench for Friday's win at Crystal Palace.
"He's been with us now for two - three weeks with the problems that we've had and, certainly, in the two - three weeks, he's flourished," Bruce told reporters.
"We think there's a player in there. He's still got a lot of work to do, of course, but we're quietly pleased with him and he was on the bench, which I'm sure he'll remember for a long time.
"I'm delighted with his progress. Let's not get carried away too quickly because, as I said, he's still got a long way to go but certainly he's a talented boy."
