New signing Matheus França hopes he can excite Crystal Palace fans.

The attacker, 19, has arrived from Flamengo.

He told Palace TV: “My first memory of football was playing on the streets of Rio, on tarmac, getting scratched. At the time, football wasn't serious for me yet, it was fun – and that is what I want: to have joy with football.

“My way of playing is simple and straight to the point: I set goals and support the other players, always thinking of the team as a whole. I do my best to help the team, so what fans can expect is a lot of determination.

“I do like to dribble and it is one of my strengths, dribbling and supporting the attack. I'm sure, with time, you will know me better."
