New Everton boss Dyche: Thelwell and I immediately discussing transfers

New Everton boss Sean Dyche has held talks with Kevin Thelwell regarding transfers.

The Blues confirmed the appointment of Dyche on Monday, with the ex-Burnley manager replacing the sacked Frank Lampard.

Given the Toffees have sold Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United, they do have money to spend before the window shuts.

“Yeah, of course," Dyche told evertontv when asked about transfers.

“When I got the great news from the chairman and owner about becoming manager, I was really pleased about that obviously, but straight away working with Kevin (Thelwell) about the lists, the players.

“We've already had a look at some and we will be meeting again today about what is there, what we can affect.

“But even with that, it starts with the group here. I look at some of these players and they are good players, so it's about enhancing them as well.

“So yeah, if there is something there we believe can affect the group, that's different, but I'm back on looking at what we have got.

“Sometimes you can overlook what you've got and the quality they have, so it is about that as well. Focusing on that, giving everyone here what we want, giving them a chance, some feedback as well of what they're suggesting - whilst looking on the outside.

“But we are hot on that at the moment and with the immediacy it deserves."
