New York Red Bulls star Roy Miller will miss both legs of the 2014 MLS Western Conference final.
The Costa Rican left-back was shown a red card in last weekend's Conference semi-final against DC United and was banned for two games for his misdemeanor.
The Red Bulls appealed the sanction this week but the MLS disciplinary panel has upheld the suspension meaning Miller will be unavailable for the two legs against New England Revolution which kicks off on November 23.
It is believed that Cameroonian defender Ambroise Oyongo will step into replace Miller who has been labelled as the best left-back in the league by Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke.
