Melbourne's Kemp set to shrug off groin problem

Melbourne Victory defender Matthew Kemp has been named in the squad to take on Wellington Phoenix tomorrow night.

The versatile 29-year old tore his adductor last week during the 4-0 win over Gold Coast United but the problem appears to be minor and he should be available for the Round 17 fixture at Westpac Stadium in Wellington according to Victory coach Ernie Merrick.

"Kempy is having an outstanding season, he's been very, very consistent week in, week out and he's not only a terrific defender but now he's showing what he can do going forward," Merrick said.

"I think he was involved in just about everything last week, he can play right side or left side and there's not many players like that."
