Man Utd manager Rangnick hails 'unique' Old Trafford atmosphere

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick was full of praise for the special atmosphere at Old Trafford during his first game in charge.

The Red Devils managed a hard fought 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at home on Sunday in the Premier League.

Despite dominating the game for large portions, United could not find a cutting edge up front.

They required a special right footed shot from the edge of the penalty area from midfielder Fred to seal the three points against Patrick Vieira's Palace.

Asked about the atmosphere, Rangnick told club media: "Yes, the atmosphere is amazing. I was here ten years ago and then I watched a few games five years ago and three years ago.

"But now being responsible here myself, the way they [the fans] encouraged the team, they helped the team even in difficult situations, it's amazing. Probably unique."
