Man Utd chiefs wary of dealing with 'nightmare' Levy over plans for Spurs star Kane

Manchester United are wary pursuing a deal for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

ESPN says United transfer chiefs are cautious over pursuing a deal for Kane due to the expected difficulties that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would cause.

The Spurs talisman is expected to leave the club at the end of the season with just 12 months left on his deal and is reportedly wanted by Man United manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag is in the market for a new striker after being forced to rely on loanee forward Wout Weghorst upfront in the absence of Anthony Martial who has been hampered by injuries.

Pursuing Kane has been described as a 'nightmare', with suggestions that trying to secure one of the world's best players from a Premier League rival would be a complicated proposal.

Bringing Kane to Old Trafford would hand Ten Hag one of the Premier League's most potent strikers, with the England captain enjoying another brilliant season for the London club despite their struggles under Italian Antonio Conte.

There are some suggestions that Spurs chief Levy could demand a figure closer to £150m despite Kane being available to leave on a free transfer in 2024 if he refuses to sign a new deal at the club.
