Man City youngster Lewis: I know opposition now target me

Manchester City wing-back Rico Lewis recognises he's becoming a marked man for opposition teams.

Lewis was speaking ahead of tomorrow's Champions League clash with Young Boys.

He said, "I think that happens to a lot of young players. They see a younger player and it is an easier target for them and it's a way to get into another player's head. For me you can take it as a compliment and you can't let it affect your game much. I just have to carry on playing as I know I need to play."

On the biggest thing he has had to learn, Lewis also stated: "I think it's hard to say one thing in particular.

"There are so many things I have learned, whether that's from Pep or any of the players. I think it's just keeping focused 100% of the time because comparing men's football to academy football you can be punished very easily for minor mistakes in men's football. Just keeping laser focused and having confidence within yourself to do what you know you can do in games."
