Man City whiz Bobb dubbed 'astonishing' by junior coach

Manchester City starlet Oscar Bobb has been praised by one of his old coaches.

The 20-year-old is finally making his impression on the City first team this season.

After time with the youth setup, Bobb is now deemed as ready for the step up.

Him impressing City boss Pep Guardiola did not surprise old coach Mikal Aaserud, who coached him at Lyn.

"We called him the Little Wizard," he told Manchester Evening News.

"Because he had the ability to take people on.

"What he did in Belgrade in the Champions League, you can times that by 1.5 or 2 every game. He did that to everybody and it didn't matter if it was a bad team in Norway or Atletico Madrid in the elite tournaments we were in.

"It was astonishing because he didn't get affected by who he met, he just did his thing all over again. What was worrying as a coach for a young player like that was he became a phenomenon in Norway.

"In Norway we don't have that many crazy big talents so when we have one or two in the year he was born, 2003, people come to see him. That is very strange.

"We played this big Norwegian tournament that is not an elite tournament but it is big in Norway and people from many places in the country were shouting his name. At one time I even asked him if he enjoyed this and thought it was ok. You feel it is a little worrying but he performed and he did his thing.

"I was very happy that he left for another country to be honest because here there are so many good players so you are almost one in a crowd. He was a big phenomenon."
