Man City require captain Kompany back for Sevilla

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is set to make a return to the starting line-up when the Citizens square off against Sevilla in the midweek Champions League encounter.

Kompany was rested for City's 5-1 victory over Bournemouth during the weekend as he had been struggling with a slight injury despite starting for Belgium in Euro2016 qualifying.

Now with City to take on Sevilla in an important Champions League fixture on Wednesday, the inspirational City captain is likely to be back in Manuel Pellegrini's XI.

This season, with Kompany out of the team, City have lost three times in six outings as opposed to him being present when they have won five and drawn one of six.

Kompany sustained his calf injury during the opening European match against Juventus in September when the score was locked at 1-1 before the Bianconeri got the better of the home team to secure a 2-1 result, further highlighting his importance to the team.
