Manchester City are prepared to trigger a release clause for the Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

The 20-year-old Flamengo player has a £40 million release clause in his contract, which would allow him to leave the club.

He is seen as one of the most promising talents in the country, especially after his displays for Flamengo this past season.

He scored six goals and grabbed five assists in 41 games. He is also a Brazil under-20 international.

Esporte Interativo believe that City will trigger his clause in the coming weeks.
