Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has made contact with Newcastle United's Hatem Ben Arfa ahead of this weekend's reunion.
The Daily Mail says De Jong has written to Ben Arfa to express his regret following the tackle that broke the Frenchman's leg at the Etihad Stadium last year.
Newcastle face City in Manchester on Saturday and Ben Arfa is expected to be part of the travelling party.
