Man City midfielder De Bruyne suffers knee injury setback

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has suffered a knee injury relapse.

For victory over Tottenham on Saturday, the Belgian star was making only his 22nd start in all competitions after suffering two serious knee injuries and a hamstring problem in a stop-start campaign.

De Bruyne, who played the full 90 minutes against the North London team on Wednesday, appeared to jar his left knee while firing an effort at goal.

The Belgium international visibly winced after the shot and smacked the ball into the stands in frustration when he next received possession before laying on the deck.

He was comforted by teammates Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling before being replaced by Fernandinho but the injury is the latest suffered by the Belgian this year.
