Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen is in Middlesbrough to have a medical.

The 27-year-old American shot stopper is set to sign for the Championship club on loan, per The Athletic's Paul Tenorio.

Steffen will spend the entire 2022/2023 season with Boro, as he looks for regular game time.

To maintain a place in the USMNT squad for the World Cup this winter, Steffen knows he must play consistently.

He is presently their no.1, but is aware that another season sitting on the bench as understudy to Ederson at City will not help his case.
