Man City have heads down to 'start racing' towards title – Kompany

Vincent Kompany warns rivals that Manchester City are ready to 'start racing' in their bid to claim the Premier League title.

City suffered a huge blow in their title aspirations following two consecutive losses against direct rivals Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Since the two defeats though, City have enjoyed good results in the Champions League as well as the Capital One Cup final and skipper Kompany has gone on to state that his side are now ready to hunt down their rivals at the top of the table just as they did when clinching the 2012 and 2014 titles.

Kompany said: "What we've learned in our recent history is that moment likes this you just have to get your head down and start racing as much as you can.

"It's what we call the hunting season now so we're not going to look back or do anything other than focus on the opponents that we have to play.

"There's no other way to approach this anymore. We just have to race to the end and see how many of the 36 points we still have to play for we can bag and we'll be close if we have a lot of them. We still have a lot to play for but nothing to lose anymore."

City will look to take their European Round of 16 and League Cup final form into Wednesday night's league clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
