Man City embrace veggie and vegan

Manchester City have named Nestlé Professional as their official vegan and vegetarian partner in what is a first for an English top-flight club, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/

The multi-year deal also includes official designation in the coffee category and will see the brand work with the Premier League champions to deliver engaging content, matchday activations, promotions and rewards, as well as events.

The vegan and vegetarian elements of the arrangement will see Nestlé Professional products such as the plant-based Garden Gourmet burger, and YES! bar range added to the matchday food offering, with Nescafé Azera coffee also being made available at the Etihad and academy stadiums.

In addition, the partnership aims to create new opportunities for the local community using soccer and food service as tools for social change.

Damian Willoughby, senior vice president of partnerships at City Football Group (CFG), said: "By enhancing the vegan options throughout our stadiums, we are offering fans an even wider selection of high-quality food and beverage options.

"This relationship exemplifies the club's ongoing commitment to sustainability and throughout the partnership, we will be collaborating on several exciting initiatives that use football as a force for social good to empower better lives and help drive new opportunities".
