Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte's failure to break into the France squad is being blamed on his personality.
Reports in France claim the defender does not get picked by boss Didier Deschamps due to concerns that he doesn't fit in.
His former coach Pierre Mankowski reckons Laporte's reluctance to engage with team-mates is one of the reasons he doesn't get picked.
Mankowski said: "He's an adorable boy, but it's true and quite complex.
"He does not engage with the collective. He is a loner.
"When he communicates, it may seem awkward, because he has a great perception of his value and he shows it.
"In the end, he's a good professional who has trouble enrolling in the collective."
