Manuel Pellegrini has praised his Manchester City side after they came from a goal down to beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Champions League.
City snatched a late victory with an injury time winner from Belgian attacker Kevin De Bruyne after overturning an early one-goal deficit.
The Chilean spoke of how he hoped that the victory over Sevilla will give his side belief and a sense of momentum going into Sunday's Manchester derby with rivals Manchester United.
Pellegrini said: "When you win it is very important for the trust of the players, because it's important to arrive for an important game like the derby by winning and not losing.
"We need to continue improving what we are doing. It is important we recover and continue our good performances in the Premier League."
City visit Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in the first Manchester derby of the season.
