Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola addressed reporters ahead of the derby this weekend.
City are taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford as they look to keep pace with the league leaders.
With Liverpool and Arsenal setting the pace, City know they have to continue to win as well.
"I always expect the best performance from our opponents," said the City boss about United, who have their own struggles this term.
"I don't talk about opponents. I respect them too much and I don't want people to misunderstand my words.
"It's better that I don't say anything. I have a lot of respect for Erik, United and the players. My players will know what they have to do today and tomorrow."
