Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on a youngster this week.

Guardiola has brought along youngster Oscar Bobb into the first team fold this term.

After Bobb signed a new City contract, Guardiola gave his approval, saying it is fully deserved.

“He deserves it. I'm very happy," Pep revealed to reporters about Bobb's contract extension.

“The most impressive thing about him? Application [and] his commitment and work ethic.

“Without the application he would not be here.

“[But] the most difficult part is now for Oscar.

“Arrive, and to make an impact is the most easiest one.

“The really difficult one is to stay there for a long time and the minutes you play to perform well and earn more minutes… that is the part that is most difficult.

“For a young player to arrive and make some appearances, many can do it.

“But to be in the Premier League and to be at City for many years… this is the most difficult thing."
