Mahrez focused on Man Utd after Man City complete late rout of Wolves

Manchester City have moved 15 points clear on top of the Premier League after a late flurry secured a 4-1 win over Wolves on Tuesday.

City went ahead after 15 minutes when Leander Dendoncker could not steer Riyad Mahrez's cross away from his own net.

Wolves managed to equalise with their only shot on target for the game when Conor Coady headed into the bottom right hand corner.

But as champions always do, City found a way to win the game.

The moment came with 10 minutes remaining when Gabriel Jesus slammed home from six yards out.

Substitute Owen Otasowie was then caught napping with his first touch of the game, which allowed Mahrez to make it three for the hosts.

The rout was completed after Rui Patricio saved Ilkay Gundogan's shot directly into the path of Jesus.

City have now won 21 consecutive games across all competitions, including 15 straight league games.

They will next face Manchester United at the Etihad on Sunday, while Wolves travel to Aston Villa.

Speaking after the game, man-of-the-match Riyad Mahrez said: "Sometimes you can have the ball for 90% of the time and you don't kill the game. The last 10 minutes were so good. We scored and we finished the game strong and we are very happy.

"We have to play game by game. The next game is Manchester United and we need to stay focused to try and win this game.

"It's difficult sometimes when we change six or seven players but every player is so good and everybody makes their contributions."
