Mac Allister tells hometown fans celebrating World Cup: I'm very grateful to Brighton

Alexis Mac Allister has told fans in hometown Santa Rosa that he's happy at Brighton as Argentina's World Cup celebrations continue.

Fans packed the streets as he was driven around in an open-top vehicle.

A presentation, speeches and a media conference followed at a local venue.

Mac Allister was showered with adulation and compliments for his part in taking the trophy back to Argentina.

Asked about his future and moving to a more famous club, he said that he was “very happy" at Albion and that he was “in no hurry".

He said: “For me, Brighton is a team that has backed me at a time that was very hard for me and talking about other teams would be disrespectful."

He told the press conference: “I'm a boy who is very grateful to Brighton.

“I know what I think about my club, what I think about the people, what I think about my team-mates."
