Argentina's World Cup triumph this past winter was the greatest achievement of Alexis Mac Allister's career so far.

The attacking midfielder was in outstanding form as he helped his team to glory in Qatar.

Winning alongside national and football legend Lionel Messi is an experience Mac Allister is unlikely to ever forget.

He told The Argus: “It's not easy and even more because we won it.

“When you win a World Cup, it's not easy to keep focus on football because there are of course really important things.

“But, when we won the World Cup. I said 'This is the most important part of my career for me' because you need to focus and keep doing the things that your normally do.

“I work hard, the same as before, and I try my best every time I am on the pitch."
