Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi was left frustrated after their 1-1 draw with Sassuolo.
Marco Parolo's early Lazio opener was cancelled out by a Gian Marco Ferrari header.
Inzaghi remarked: "It was very important for us to win and we prepared for this in just two days, but after taking the lead, we made it too easy for Sassuolo to equalise.
“We controlled the tempo better in the second half, but lacked the final ball. There are regrets over wasting an opportunity to climb up the table, but more than anything else we shouldn't have conceded that equaliser.
“I don't remember a save from Thomas Strakosha in the second half. We created some good moves against an organised Sassuolo side, but weren't sharp enough."
