Kiwi young gun Wood on fire at Leicester

Chris Wood backed up his brilliant start to life with Leicester City with the opening goal in their FA Cup triumph over Burton Albion on Saturday.

The 21-year old New Zealand striker, who made a £1.2million move from West Bromwich Albion last week, netted twice on debut in the Championship win over Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day prior to the weekend's home clash with Burton.

Wood allowed the Foxes to win 2-0 at King Power Stadium when he opened the scoring in just the third minute with a well-taken volley after edging out Aaron Webster from Paul Konchesky's long ball.

Ritchie de Laet doubled the advantage in the 21st minute as Leicester booked a fourth round date with Huddersfield.

Wood has now scored three goals in two games for Leicester after an impressive loan spell with Millwall where he scored 11 times in 19 Championship appearances.
