Juventus striker Zaza emerges as Pelle contingency for Southampton

Southampton are believed to be considering a summer move for Simone Zaza.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Saints have identified the Juventus striker as a possible replacement for Graziano Pelle.

The 30-year-old has a year to run on his St Mary's deal but could leave the south coast in the next transfer window with the likes of Lazio, AC Milan and the Bianconeri showing interest.

It is understood the Serie A trio will watch Pelle closely at this summer's European Championships and could all go after him if he impresses for Italy.

If that is the case, Southampton could pursue 24-year-old Zaza who failed to hit the heights expected of him in Turin following his move from Sassuolo last summer.
