Joselu to be given further Stoke opportunities after Everton goal

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is planning to give more playing time to forward Joselu in the second half of the season.

The Spaniard has been a peripheral figure for the Potters since his arrival at the club in the summer and has made only ten appearances.

But the former Hannover striker grabbed his opportunity to impress Hughes on Monday night as he scored the goal to equalise at 3-3 in the 80th minute of the dramatic 4-3 win against Everton.

"I'm really pleased for Joselu, because I have probably disappointed him more than most so far this season," Hughes told Stoke City Player.

"He came with high hopes to be a big part of what we do, and he certainly is part of my thinking moving forward, but I just haven't been able to give him much game time.

"He came on and understood what was required and what we wanted him to do heading into the final period and he took his goal very well.

"He showed great technique, which we know he has and hopefully I can start giving him more playing time heading into the second half of the season."
