Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is in talks over a new contract after impressing Sven-Goran Eriksson in preseason training.
The manager has invested in several new midfield players since taking the job, but he rates Johnson, 19, who attracted interest from Liverpool earlier in the summer.
