Jesse Lingard suffers demotion at Man Utd

Jesse Lingard has suffered a demotion at Manchester United.

Lingard has barely featured this season after struggling in the last year, and has only played three times this season – twice in the Carabao Cup and once in the FA Cup.

The Manchester Evening News says he has been ousted from the club's core squad due to a lack of playing time.

New signing Amad Diallo, who has impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in training, will now remain a regular member of the first-team squad, taking the core squad to 23 players for the time being.

The winger only joined United this month having been signed on transfer deadline day, and is yet to feature in any competition.

But it seems he could be about to get his chance, as he is able to make his debut whenever Solskjaer feels the time is right.

For Lingard, he has a host of teams interested in his services, while there is still a chance he could be used towards the end of the season as United target a remarkable Premier League title.
