Inter Milan fullback Matteo Darmian was delighted being part of Italy's win against Malta.

The Azzurri won their Euro qualifier 4-0 on Saturday.

Darmian said: "It was very important today in front of a fantastic crowd who pushed us from start to finish. In the end, we saw a great attitude from the team. In the end it's a fair result that will make us look forward in a positive way.

"The coach asked us to play the game, to put on the pitch not only our qualities but also a lot of aggression.

"We prepared for the match in a few days and worked well, trying to assimilate as much as possible what the coach wants from us."
