Insider: Real Madrid intend to buy back Tottenham fullback Reguilon

Real Madrid regret selling Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham - and want to buy him back.

That's according to Okdiario's founder and chief pundit Eduardo Inda, while speaking on El Chiringuito.

Madrid have been concerned over veteran Marcelo's form and could look to re-sign Reguilon when the buy back clause becomes active next summer.

"It can happen at the end of the season and he is a player who inexplicably left Real Madrid. A French player (Ferland Mendy) was signed who I do not think is better than the Spanish one," began Inda, quoted by Okdiario.

"Real Madrid wants to get Reguilón back, the fullback who should never have left Madrid.

"The club wants him back and (coach Zinedine) Zidane agrees. Real Madrid did things well and a €35m repurchase agreement was signed."

The comments of Inda, who founded Okdiario after leaving El Mundo, follow English press claims in October that Real have quickly realised they were mistaken to allow Reguilon to leave.

Reguilon joined Spurs in September for a fee of €30m, signing a contract to 2025. So far this season, the Spain international left-back has managed eleven appearances, helping his new team to the top of the Premier League table.

Last term, Reguilon spent the campaign with Sevilla, where he was part of the team's successful Europa League campaign, winning the final after the season restart.
