Huddlestone calls on Hodgson to visit Hull

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone says it's about time England coach Roy Hodgson starts attending the KC.

The former Tottenham midfielder has not had the call from his country since November 2012, when he came on as a late substitute in the 4-2 defeat by Sweden in Stockholm.

"I don't think he's been up yet,' said the 27-year-old to the Daily Star.

"I will always remain hopeful. Obviously I have got to have a good season for Hull. I was fairly happy with the way I performed last season, so hopefully I can kick on and do the same this season.

"The last game was back in 2012 in Sweden, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored four. There were a few of us in that squad that were fairly new, I think it was one of Raheem Sterling's first games, and obviously he has kicked on from there.

"Ryan Shawcross was in, and he is in a similar position to myself - he hasn't really had another sniff since then. Maybe Zlatan has cursed both of us!"
