Howe admits Newcastle undermanned after Bournemouth defeat

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe admits they're undermanned after defeat at Bournemouth.

Newcastle lost 2-0 due to a double by Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

Howe said, "A really difficult game for us we were short today in-and-out of possession.

"Not out finest moment, we have to accept it and it was hard for us early on in the game and we had to adapt. Not ourselves today.

"We were frustrated with our performance, the goals compound that in the second period and we were hoping to dig out a result. We were not ourselves and we did not look like creating chances - it was about hanging in there.

"When we conceded the first goal it was a difficult evening for us.

"We did not have the options to change the game with Miggy [MIguel Almiron] injured that was one of our moments. We are going to be tested and it was a game too far for us.

"No criticism of the young guys they did well and it is a tough environment for them. Bournemouth played well and we suffered.

"Possibly in an ideal world we would have taken a couple of players off but that is how stretched we are at the moment.
