Hasenhuttl admits Southampton missing Ings goal contribution

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl admits his side are struggling without Danny Ings scoring goals.

The Saints rely heavily on Ings to supply the firepower that lifts them to wins in the Premier League.

However, he has only scored one in the past five, which was a defeat to Wolves.

Southampton have lost eight in the past nine league matches, and scored five in those games.

"Ingsy is a little bit short of freshness it seems and cannot score at the moment and we miss his goals, definitely," said Hasenhuttl to reporters.

"He is the guy normally who gives us the lead."

He added: "When you don't score and you concede one goal, then you lose games and this is the run we are in at the moment.

"We have to do everything to stop it."
