Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that defender John Stones has been ruled for ten days due to a hamstring problem.
The 21-year-old centre-back was not a part of the Toffees squad for the 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday night and expected to be sidelined for at least the next week.
Following the game, Martinez said: "John had a niggle in his hamstring. We had the scan yesterday and it was all clear. It's more fatigue, a reaction in his hamstring.
"Remember John is 21 and at this stage has played more games than any other season in his professional career.
"We'll probably have to give him a little bit of a period to regenerate, but I expect him to be back in the next week to 10 days."
