Good blames injuries for failed Newcastle career

Former Newcastle United defender Curtis Good says that injuries were the reason why he underperformed at the club.

Good left the Magpies early in the summer and has been unable to find a new club in the UK.

The defender is now back in Australia with Melbourne City.

Good told the Melbourne City's official website: "I am excited to get started here.

"I have been away a while so it's exciting to be back.

"Anyone who goes overseas to play knows the experience is different.

"You learn a lot.

"You are put through your paces and you have to be mentally tough.

"It was a great experience but I'm happy to be back.

"I learnt a lot over in the UK but unfortunately my opportunities were curbed a little by the injury I picked up with the Socceroos. I'm motivated to work hard in training and remind everybody what I can do"
