Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has started the new season in some fashion by scoring two goals in the first two games, but a clean sheet remains the priority for him.

Kompany has been rock-solid in City's defence, which is yet to concede a goal in the new Premier League campaign, and is delighted to also be hitting the back of the net at the other end.

When asked if he was taking goalscoring advice from City striker Sergio Aguero, Kompany added: "I'm definitely learning from him, but it's not what I take most pride in as a defender.

"I'm really happy with the two clean sheets, but if I can contribute I'm always happy to do it, especially in front of the fans, but the clean sheet means a lot to me and I will sleep well at night."
