Manchester United great Ryan Giggs is in the frame for the Salford City job.
The League Two strugglers are looking for another manager after sacking Neil Wood last week.
Giggs is a director at the club and the former Wales coach is being considered for the job, says The Sun.
Paul Hurst and Dean Holden are also being discussed.
The Ammies, who has the outspoken Gary Neville also a part-owner, are under threat of relegation from the Football League despite having by far the biggest budget in League Two.
