Getafe president Torres: Greenwood doesn't want Man Utd return

Getafe president Angel Torres has reaffirmed hopes of keeping hold of Mason Greenwood next season.

The Manchester United forward has been a revelation during his Getafe loan.

Torres, asked about landing the England international, told AS: "A series of circumstances arose that we analysed, evaluated and decided on. We reached an agreement with United and with the boy to protect and respect him.

"The first thing we did was rent him a chalet so that the family could come and live with him. Manchester and the boy have thanked us.

"It seems that the idea is that he does not return to United and that opens up a possibility for us.

"What we did do was investigate what had happened and the legal situation. Everyone has the right to a second chance."

Asked about battling Barçelona and Atlético Madrid in order to keep hold of the player, he continued: "And we are also interested and own a part. If there is someone interested and they come with money, there is little I can do."
