Fabregas hoping for change of luck in Chelsea attack

Chelsea have suffered three straight defeats in the Premier League to fall to 16th on the table.

During that time, the reigning champions have scored just two goals in what has been a shocking start to their title defence.

Diego Costa in particular has been well below his best with only a pair of goals from 10 outings and fellow out-of-form Blues star Cesc Fabregas hopes his fellow Spaniard, along with the Blues other attackers, can soon find form before the season completely slips away.

"We played really, really well in the last game at Stoke and we had so many chances but unfortunately, the ball does not want to go in at the moment," he said.

"The striker is the most important player on the pitch. Sometimes, 80 per cent of the time, he is important as he scores the goals.

"At the end of the day in football, you can play well, defend well, but it's about scoring goals, about scoring one more goal.

"If you're a striker at your best, hopefully you can score more goals."

Chelsea next meet Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
