The FA has pleaded with FIFA to take a lenient stance on Tottenham star Dele Alli for his middle-finger gesture.
The England international was caught on camera showing a middle finger during England's 2-1 win over Slovakia. England boss Gareth Southgate claimed following the game that Alli had made the gesture towards his former Spurs teammate Kyle Walker.
FIFA are currently reviewing the incident, and they are expected to announce their decision on September 28.
An FA spokesman said: "We have today responded to FIFA and understand the case will be reviewed by the disciplinary committee before the end of the month."
