Former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart is surprised seeing Gareth Bale move to Real Madrid for a world record fee.

Now with Hamburg, Van der Vaart is also a former Real player.

"I've played with him and what I saw was not worth €100 million," he said.

"It is true that he really has grown in recent years and has played fantastic. But whether he is worth €100 million, he will have to prove."
