Ex-Roma defender Balzaretti happy for Garcia over Napoli appointment: He can handle Osimhen sale

Former AS Roma defender Federico Balzaretti is happy for his former coach Rudi Garcia.

Garcia was named new Napoli coach last week.

Balzaretti told Sky Italia: "Getting to Napoli will be more difficult for Garcia than when he arrived at Roma, given that expectations after the Scudetto will be very high, but the Azzurri team is in any case prepared and he will start from a proven base to which he will add his own.

"We in Rome started off great, he will give responsibility to the senators and will always try to dominate the game. Napoli was devastating last year. I'm happy for him. He wants to win, he is not one to hide and he has always made it clear at press conferences. In fact, I expect this today when he will be presented."

On Victor Osimhen's future at Napoli, Balzaretti continued: "I think they talked and I don't think Garcia doesn't expect something. If he had to choose, he would tie him to Maradona, Osimhen is a monster.

"Garcia still has the experience to work with what Napoli will make available to him. The Azzurri club have always had the strength to improve the team even with big sales, see Cavani or Higuain. Garcia will never feel sorry for himself."
