Ex-Everton No2 Erwin Koeman delighted seeing Ferguson progress

Former Everton assistant manager Erwin Koeman is delighted seeing Duncan Ferguson make his way as a coach at Goodison Park.

Ferguson impressed as caretaker manager following the sacking of Marco Silva last season and Erwin admitted he had a 'great' relationship with the Scotsman.

“I am a human being. I like working with real people like that, who know everything there is to know about the club and English football," Erwin told De Telegraaf.

“Duncan is a very sweet, warm guy. I had a great time with him."

Koeman also claimed his brother was the man to promote Ferguson, adding: “Ronald made sure his contract was changed; he was going to earn a normal salary."
