Ex-Bayern Munich Nagelsmann will forego fortune to take Germany job

Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is set to be named new Germany coach.

Nagelsmann will succeed Hansi Flick after his departure a fortnight ago following a heavy friendly defeat in Japan.

BILD says the 36 year-old has agreed to forego a €20m payout owed by Bayern to free himself from his contract and take the Germany post.

Nagelsmann will earn around €5m with Germany, which he will lead through to next summer's Euros.

His deal will run to the end of the tournament, after which he is expected to return to the club game.
