Departing Alaves coach Mauricio Pellegrino is in talks with Crystal Palace.
The Sun says the Argentinian — a good friend of Tottenham chief Mauricio Pochettino — resigned from the Alaves hotseat on Monday.
He had guided the newly-promoted side to an impressive ninth in La Liga and a Spanish Cup final.
Sam Allardyce stepped down as Palace boss last week, just five months after he joined the Selhurst Park club.
And Spain sources say the Eagles have approached Pellegrino, 45, having been alerted by the fact has expressed his desire to manage in England. Leicester have also sounded out the manager.
He said: “I would love to manage in England. The Premier League is the most exciting in the world.
“I loved my two seasons as a coach at Liverpool and playing for them for half a season, too."
