Everton striker Richarlison has enjoyed a dig at Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk ahead of Sunday's derby.

Van Dijk has played a crucial role in the Reds becoming world and European club champions - and has been shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or in the process.

But Richarlison has tried to take him down a peg or two by saying he can think of at least three centre-halves who he rates more highly.

"People talk a lot about him, yes he is a great defender but I've already dribbled past him," Richarlison said of Van Dijk in an interview with Desimpedidos.

"He was chosen as one of the top three in the world as he had an excellent season. But yes, for me there are better defenders."

When asked name who tops Van Dijk, Richarlison named Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, plus two of his compatriots who play for Paris-Saint Germain.

"Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos," Richarlison said.
