Everton striker Cenk Tosun: My goal doesn't matter

Everton striker Cenk Tosun struggled to celebrate his goal against Tottenham knowing the injury suffered by teammate Andre Gomes.

Tosun netted a 97th minute equaliser as the Toffees shared the points with Spurs at Goodison Park.

But the result was overshadowed by former Barcelona star Gomes' horrific injury in the second half - after he was challenged by Heung-min Son and collided with Serge Aurier.

Tosun's thoughts after the game was solely on his teammate and confessed that he wished he hadn't scored - having cradled Gomes' head while he writhed around in pain.

"You win, you draw, you lose but all that doesn't matter when something like this happens," Tosun, who was in tears after the final whistle, wrote on Instagram.

"I wish I didn't score, I wish we lost 0-5 and this didn't happen. I know you will come back stronger bro and we will be there for you."
